North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and his daughter Kim Ju Ae visited a greenhouse farm completion ceremony and airborne training. The North Korean media drew attention for the first time by using the expression “Hyangdo” to show Kim Ju Ae the direction she should take with Kim.

According to the Korean Central News Agency, on the 17th, Kim directed the Air and Ground Forces (Airborne Forces) training on the 15th. He praised the efforts of the soldiers who participated in the construction at the completion and operation ceremony of the Gangdong Comprehensive Greenhouse, which was built near Pyongyang. While delivering news of his visit to the Gangdong Greenhouse, Korean Central TV also released footage of Kim using the Aurus car, a personal car gifted by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Kim Ju Ae accompanied Kim’s military and economic schedules for the day. In particular, the Rodong Sinmun and the Korean Central News Agency expressed, “The great people of Hyangdo looked around the Gangdong Comprehensive Greenhouse with the party, government, and military officials.” Using the term Hyangdo in plural form sparked interpretations that it was conscious of the speculation of Kim Ju Ae as the successor.

On the other hand, it was reported that North Korea replaced Ambassador Ma Chol Su in response to the sudden diplomatic relations between South Korea and Cuba. Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel posted a 28-second video of the meeting with Ambassador Ma before the return of Ambassador Ma on President’s X (former Twitter), saying, “I conveyed Cuba’s support, solidarity, and unchanging friendship to Comrade Ma, who is finishing his diplomatic mission.” Ambassador Ma has been working in Cuba since October 2018, and his successor has not been announced.
