North Korea harshly criticized Japan, which proceeded with the 7th release of contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear plant, saying, “Now, a terrifying nuclear disaster is unavoidable due to reckless and irresponsible release of radioactive water.”
In the review titled “The Sin of Pouring Nuclear Filth Into the Ocean Is Never Be Diluted,” the Korean Central News Agency reported that Japanese authorities have resumed discharging radioactive water into the ocean despite facing strong international opposition.
The agency stated, “Since the start of the radioactive water discharge, the concentration of tritium (a radioactive substance) in the seawater near the Fukushima nuclear power plant has increased significantly compared to the past, and there have been successive incidents of mass fish deaths, among other worrying events. Japan’s claim of safe management and clean treatment is an unacceptable excuse.”
Furthermore, the agency criticized Japan for its persistent discharge of radioactive water into the ocean, accusing it of attempting to normalize these actions to evade protests and criticism.
They also satirized, saying, “It is an old tactic of cunning Japanese reactionaries to commit various crimes, such as the denial of past wrongs or revival of militarism for slowly gnawing the international wall like a rat, then clouding the attention to step up to the next level of crime.”
“The international community must see through Japan’s cunning intent their crimes with the audacious argument of the normal discharge of treated water and should not tolerate their criminal actions that severely threaten human survival,” they added.
Meanwhile, Tokyo Electric Power Company announced that it would carry out the 7th ocean discharge of contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant from the 28th of last month to the 16th of this month. This is the third discharge this year, and since August of last year, Japan has discharged about 12.4 million gallons of contaminated water into the sea in front of the Fukushima nuclear power plant.
