A tragic stabbing attack at Yixing Wuxi Vocational Technical College on Saturday left eight people dead and 17 others injured, according to the state-run Xinhua News Agency. Authorities say the suspect, a man in his twenties who had graduated from the school, committed the crime due to dissatisfaction with poor working conditions and his inability to graduate.

The suspect was apprehended at the scene and confessed to the crime.

Videos circulating on Chinese social media depicted blood-stained areas throughout the school’s dormitories, with several victims lying on the ground. Footage also showed Chinese police entering the campus armed with shields.

Chinese media outlets reported that the assailant had left a suicide note online, highlighting labor issues such as unpaid wages and excessive working hours. However, the suicide note has since been removed from Chinese social media platforms.
