In a statement released through the Korean Central News Agency on Sunday, Kim Yo Jong, deputy director of the Workers’ Party of Korea, condemned South Korea for allegedly sending “political agitation leaflets and dirty things” to North Korea. She claimed the items were dropped in several areas near the southern border, as well as deeper into North Korean territory.

Kim further criticized what she described as the “shameful and dirty acts” of South Koreans, accusing them of disregarding repeated warnings from the North. “Once again, they committed the provocation of scattering anti-DPRK political and conspiratorial material,” she said.

Kim expressed her outrage by comparing the act to “dirty rubbish scattered in a clean yard,” something even a dog would avoid. “The inviolable territory of the DPRK is being polluted, and much labor had to be used in disposing of these wastes,” she added.

Kim emphasized the limits of patience, warning that the North Korean people’s anger had reached “extremes.” She stated, “The scum will have to pay a dear price.”

Along with the statement, North Korea released ten photos showing balloons containing paper leaflets, snacks, instant noodles, food, medicines, and children’s nutritional supplements lying on the ground or caught in trees and power lines.
