According to a report by Rodong Sinmun on Saturday,

North Korea has set ambitious production targets for key industrial sectors in the new year, surpassing last year’s goals.

The state-run newspaper reported that the Komdok Mining Complex in South Hamgyong Province has rallied to increase non-ferrous metal mineral production by 1.2 times compared to last year, marking the final year of their five-year plan.

In North Pyongan Province, the Tukjang Area Coal Mining Complex is taking significant strides to boost coal production by 105% compared to last year.

The Ryongsong Machine Complex in Hamhung, South Hamgyong Province, has begun manufacturing equipment for the chemical industry, with production levels steadily rising. The report highlighted the new year’s production plans of major companies.

In the 2024 assessment, held during the party’s plenary meeting at the end of last year, North Korea achieved 106% of its non-ferrous metals target and 110% of its coal production goal. However, the machinery sector was not mentioned in the report.

The Ryongsong Machine Complex was recognized as one of the top ten outstanding companies in 2023.
