Tesla Lowers FSD Subscription Price in North America

Daniel Kim Views

Tesla has halved the subscription fee for its Full Self-Driving (FSD) system in North America.

Tesla announced on the 13th (local time) that it has reduced the subscription price for its fully autonomous driving system in the United States and Canada.

This move is interpreted as stimulating sales amidst weak demand and price competition.

According to a post on Tesla’s official social media account, the subscription fee will be USD 99 per month in the United States and CAD 99 (about USD 71.88) in Canada.

On the other hand, Tesla previously offered this software, which requires drivers’ active supervision and is not autonomous, at a monthly subscription fee of $199.

Elon Musk has long touted the FSD technology as a potential revenue source for the company but has failed to deliver on promises to provide a fully autonomous driving experience amid strict regulations and legal scrutiny over Tesla’s safety and marketing.

Last month, Tesla announced plans to pilot its driver-assist technology for a month for existing and new customers in the United States.
