Hyundai Motor has decided to produce the Ioniq 5 as the first vehicle at its new plant in Georgia, USA, named Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA).

On June 18, Hyundai Motor America stated that the first vehicle to be produced at the Georgia plant would be the 2025 Ioniq 5.

Oscar Kwon, president and CEO of HMGMA, stated, “This is a very exciting time for HMGMA. We are in the final stages of construction and preparing to launch the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5.” He added that the Ioniq 5 is an “ideal vehicle to start production with.”

In the future, HMGMA plans to produce Hyundai vehicles and Genesis and Kia cars.
