globalautonews Views

Bentley Motors, a Volkswagen Group subsidiary, unveiled the 4th generation, The New Continental GT Speed. This model is the ultimate grand tourer that combines powerful performance at the supercar level, luxury completed by handwork by craftsmen and everyday driving performance.

It inherits the design DNA introduced in Mulliner’s limited edition models Bacalar and Batur and is equipped with the Ultra Performance Hybrid system to improve performance and electric driving range.

The powertrain, which combines a new 4.0L V8 engine and a 190-horsepower electric motor, generates 782 horsepower and 102.04 kg.m of torque. It takes 3.2 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill, and the maximum speed is 335 km/h (208 mph).

The hybrid system lowered CO2 emissions to 29 g/km (WLTP: World Harmonized Light-duty Vehicle Test Procedure standard). It provides stable traction and handling through an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission and electronically limited-slip differential (eLSD).

The New Continental GT Speed interior comprises the highest quality materials and details. Additionally, 20-way electric seats and 2,200W Naim for Bentley audio options are provided. A rotating display and 30-color mood lighting function were also applied.

Bentley set an unofficial speed record in the Ryfylke underwater tunnel in Norway, reaching 335 km/h (208 mph) in 33 seconds.

The new Continental GTC Speed Convertible model will also be launched. Both models are handcrafted at the Bentley Dream Factory in Crewe, England, and the official sales date has not been determined.
