Concerns have emerged that the artificial intelligence (AI) features in the iPhone 16 may be delayed in China.

The information reported on Wednesday that Apple faces challenges in adapting Baidu’s AI model for iPhone users in China.

According to sources cited by the publication, engineers from both Baidu and Apple are collaborating to modify Baidu’s large language model for iPhone users.

They’re encountering several issues in getting the model to understand prompts and respond accurately to everyday scenarios for iPhone users.

These difficulties have led to speculation that implementing AI features for the iPhone 16 series in China could be postponed.

Apple plans to introduce Apple Intelligence through the iOS 18.1 update in late October. The company also anticipates increased demand for the iPhone 16 series in the United States.
