Polish e-commerce giant Allegro has announced that its subsidiary, Ceneo, is suing Google’s parent company, Alphabet. In a statement released on Monday, Allegro confirmed that it has filed a lawsuit against Alphabet, Google Ireland, and Google LLC, seeking 2.33 billion zloty ($568 million) in damages.

The claim focuses on Google’s alleged anti-competitive practices. Ceneo accuses the tech giant of giving preferential treatment to its own price comparison service in search results, which has reportedly caused significant harm to Ceneo’s business operations.

According to the lawsuit, the damages comprise 1.72 billion zloty ($420 million) in direct losses sustained by Ceneo and approximately 615 million zloty ($150 million) in interest accrued from 2013 to November 29, 2024.

In addition, Ceneo is pursuing statutory interest on the entire 2.33 billion zloty ($568 million) claim from the date the lawsuit was filed until the damages are fully paid.
