Hyundai Motor Group continues to win accolades at prestigious automotive award ceremonies in the UK and the U.S., showcasing its competitive edge in product development and diverse lineup, particularly in the electric vehicle segment.
The automaker announced on Tuesday that it secured seven awards at the 2025 What Car? Awards, a renowned UK automotive media event that recognizes excellence in various vehicle categories.
Established in 1978, the What Car? Awards have become one of Europe’s most esteemed automotive ceremonies—the influential UK publication What Car? is hosting the awards for the forty-eighth time this year.
This year’s ceremony saw Hyundai and Kia models dominate key categories. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N won the Best Hot Hatch Electric Vehicle award, while the Casper Electric was named Best Urban Small Electric Vehicle. Santa Fe claimed the title of Best 7-Seater Vehicle, and Kia’s EV3 won Best Small Electric SUV. The Sportage retained its Best Family SUV crown, and the EV4 was recognized as the Most Anticipated Car. The Ioniq 5 N’s innovative E-Shift technology earned the Best Technology accolade.
Kia’s Sportage cemented its position as the UK’s favorite family SUV, clinching the title for the third consecutive year and validating its status as the best-selling SUV in the British market last year.
Hyundai Motor Group considers its seven awards at the What Car? Awards are a testament to its competitiveness across all vehicle segments, from compact cars to large vehicles, electric models, and high-performance offerings.
The winning streak continued stateside, with the influential automotive magazine Car and Driver‘s “2025 Editor’s Choice Awards.” Twenty-three models were identified in the group: nine from Hyundai, seven from Kia, and seven from Genesis.
Earlier in January, Hyundai and Kia models, including the Ioniq 5, Ioniq 5 N, Kia Telluride, and Genesis GV70, featured prominently in Car and Driver’s “2025 Best 10” list. Seven Hyundai and Kia models also received the “2025 Best Customer Value Award” from the respected U.S. publication U.S. News & World Report. Notably, the Hyundai Elantra Hybrid (known as Avante Hybrid in some markets) secured the Best Hybrid Sedan title for the fourth year running, underscoring its enduring appeal.
A spokesperson for Hyundai Motor Group expressed delight at the recognition of its product excellence in the global marketplace. They noted that in an increasingly competitive automotive landscape, Hyundai remains committed to enhancing customer satisfaction through its diverse vehicle lineup.
