Dutch Auto Market: Kia EV3 Leads January 2025 Sales

Kia’s EV3 has claimed the top spot in the Dutch automotive market for January 2025. The model registered 1,757 units, securing a 5.4% market share.

The Dutch passenger car market saw total sales of 32,804 units in January, marking a 4.6% decrease compared to the same month last year. Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) accounted for 11,157 units, representing 34% of total sales and a 28% year-over-year increase. Hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) dominated the market with 14,934 units sold, capturing a 45.5% share. Gasoline vehicles followed with 6,388 units (19.5%), while diesel and LPG vehicles registered 270 (0.8%) and 55 (0.2%) units respectively.

Following the Kia EV3, the best-selling models in the Netherlands for January were the Kia Picanto (855 units, 2.6%), Peugeot 208 (777 units, 2.4%), Volvo EX30 (724 units, 2.2%), and Volkswagen Polo (696 units, 2.1%).

The Kia EV3 maintained a commanding lead in the BEV segment with 1,757 units registered, achieving a substantial 15.7% market share. It was followed by the Volvo EX30 (724 units, 6.5%), Volkswagen ID.3 (523 units, 4.7%), Tesla Model Y (482 units, 4.3%), and Tesla Model 3 (432 units, 3.9%).
