The Kia compact electric SUV model EV3 rapidly expands its presence in the European market. After becoming the best-selling car in the Netherlands and topping Spain’s electric vehicle (EV) market, it recently won the Car of the Year title at a British automotive awards ceremony.

According to Industry sources on Friday, the Kia EV3 recently won top honors at the 2025 DrivingElectric Awards, hosted by the UK’s leading EV magazine, DrivingElectric. The EV3 also won the Car of the Year 2025 and Best Family EV awards. It was evaluated for its sophisticated design, performance, and cutting-edge convenience features while being reasonably priced.

The EV3’s presence in the UK market continues to grow. This latest achievement follows its recent recognition as Crossover of the Year at the 2024 TopGear Awards, marking a string of accolades for the model.

The EV3’s popularity extends beyond the UK, resonating across Europe. Data from the RAI Automotive Industry NL shows that last month, 1,757 EV3s were sold in the Netherlands, earning the single model a 5.4% market share. Last month, an EV3 accounted for one out of every 20 newly registered cars.

The EV3 is also making significant strides in Spain. According to the Spanish Association of Automobile and Truck Manufacturers (ANFAC), the EV3 sold 417 units last month, securing the top spot in the local electric vehicle market. In particular, the EV3 caught attention by beating out its rival, the Chinese BYD Dolphin, to take the top spot.
