To promote Dubai, the police utilize supercars

But why does Dubai, known for its wealth and grandeur, use supercars as police vehicles? The answer lies in a combination of tourism promotion and practicality. Dubai, while wealthy, doesn’t have many traditional tourist attractions such as historical sites or natural landscapes. Instead, it has created modern marvels, and the police use of supercars has become a key part of its tourist appeal. For many visitors, seeing a Lamborghini or Ferrari used as a police vehicle is a novel experience. This spectacle draws tourists who want to see this unconventional aspect of Dubai’s law enforcement up close.

To catch supercars, they utilize supercars

Furthermore, Dubai is home to many wealthy residents who own supercars. This has led to an influx of luxury and performance vehicles on the streets. Some of the abandoned cars in the city are high-end supercars. When these vehicles are involved in traffic violations or crimes, they can easily outpace regular police vehicles due to their superior performance. To address this, Dubai’s police fleet includes a range of high-performance vehicles, from sports cars like BMWs and Benzes to supercars like Lamborghinis, Ferraris, McLarens, and Aston Martins. They even have luxury cars like Bentleys, Rolls-Royces, and hypercars like the Bugatti Veyron and Porsche 918 Spyder. They’ve recently added high-performance electric vehicles like the Tesla Cybertruck and Lotus Eletre.

Other countries utilize supercars as police vehicles

In addition to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, another emirate, uses supercars as police cars. Even one of the seven Lykan Hypersports produced is used as a police car. In countries other than the UAE, Italy uses supercars as police cars. In Bologna, the Lamborghini Gallardo was used as a police car, but the Huracan replaced it as the generation changed. It is mainly used for highway patrols, traffic control, criminal pursuit, and medical support using its high speed. It is equipped with a refrigerator that can store organs and a defibrillator.

In addition, Qatar and Austria are using Porsche vehicles as police vehicles. Qatar’s government owns shares in Porsche, so it naturally purchased them. Austria, which is close to Germany, is said to have bought several Porsche vehicles while purchasing German vehicles. The Czech Republic also made headlines by converting a Ferrari 458 Italia confiscated from a criminal into a police vehicle.
