[TV Report= Reporter Yoo Bi-jee] Singer Sam Smith was spotted enjoying his date with his boyfriend.

According to the UK media outlet Daily Mail on the 10th, Sam Smith was captured on a date with his boyfriend Christian Cowan in New York, USA. They enjoyed their date without worrying about the public’s gaze.

Sam Smith completed his look with a brown jacket, white cargo pants, leather shoes, and a beard. His boyfriend Christian Cowan wore a black padded jacket and cargo pants. The couple stood out with their contrasting black and white fashion.

Sam Smith was also seen hugging Christian Cowan while walking down the street.

Previously, in an interview with the UK media outlet The Sun, Sam Smith expressed his desire for a quiet romance away from the public eye. He stated, “I’ve never played by the rules. I love people, and whoever I like is just the person I like, regardless of who they are.”

He added, “To be honest, I don’t even know the gender of the person I like. Not being confined to one category is a liberating thing.”

As a member of the LGBT community, Sam Smith also candidly shared his experiences with romance. He explained, “A queer person’s first romance can be a huge deal because it’s where you can discover a lot about yourself.”

On his sexual identity, Sam Smith stated, “I’ve never thought about people, any human existence, in strict terms. I grew up in a household where the balance of gender and power was different.”

Sam Smith has previously come out as ‘gender non-binary’. In an interview with Apple Music, he expressed his emotional distress over the hate comments he received after coming out. He said, “I was tired of the criticism and hate poured on me. It was too hard to see myself in the news without even searching for my name. It was even hard to look at it.”
