The participation of NewJeans’ Hyein in singer IU’s new album is drawing attention.

On the 5th, IU’s agency, EDAM Entertainment, posted a track list video of IU’s 6th mini album, “The Winning,” on its official social media channel.

The video posted on that day was organized in the form of an online shopping list. With the double title tracks “Shopper” and “Seed,” a total of 5 songs, including “Shh..”, “Love wins all,” which heralds the return of the music queen, and “I’ll be the audience (I stan U)” were listed along with the cover image and the release date and the phrase “Let’s go haul” are written at the bottom. At the end of the video, IU’s short but clear ringing voice, “Oh, I want all, I must have all, all,” captivated listeners’ ears.

This mini album is the result of IU’s long preparation as a producer, from songwriting to meticulous details. First of all, for the title track “Shopper,” she collaborated with composer Lee Jong-hoon, IU’s long-time musical partner who worked on several mega-hit songs such as “Leon,” “Twenty-Three,” “BBIBBI,” and composer Lee Chae-gyu in composing, with IU participating in the lyrics. The other title track, “Seed,” attracted the attention of IU, participating directly in composing and lyrics with the work of composers Lee Jong-hoon and Lee Chae-gyu.

In addition, IU raised expectations for her signature lyrics by being the sole lyricist for all songs. Moreover, talented musicians Hong So-jin, Seo Dong-hwan, Jae-hwi, and Kim Hee-won joined to support the higher quality of the mini album.

In particular, the Name of a member of the group NewJeans, Hyein, and the vocalist and singer-songwriter of Rollercoaster Jo Won Sun were shown for featuring in the 3rd track, “Shh..”. Also, a question mark for the special narration stimulated the fans’ curiosity.

Since IU has officially started the countdown to her comeback with the release of this track list, her new album is attracting exceptional attention.

Meanwhile, IU will release all the songs from the mini album “The Winning” through major online music sites at 6 p.m. on February 20th.
