IU, heralding the best comeback of the year, has sparked a buzz by releasing a teaser for a music video of a track from her upcoming mini-album alongside a top-tier team.

EDAM Entertainment, IU’s agency, uploaded a teaser video for the song “Shh..” from IU’s 6th mini-album “The Winning”, on their official SNS channel at midnight transitioning between 12th and 13th.

The teaser released beginning with the word SHH,, appearing on a red background. IU is seen looking up somewhere with a short black haircut. This is followed by a scene of Tang Wei gazing out of the car window, leaning her face on the steering wheel. The screen transitions to black and white, and the two open a wooden floor under a space that appears to be a house, with the caption THERE WAS A SONG appearing. At the end of the video, IU stares at the camera, and the phrase “Its name is Shh” appears, amplifying listeners’ curiosity.

Despite the short duration of the teaser, it has gathered attention for its stylish mood, an aesthetic that captures the characters’ aura, and the intense gaze of the two, even if it’s just for a fleeting moment. Notably, the music video has sparked even more interest as it features Tang Wei, an actor recognized for her acting skills in numerous works, and has won awards such as Best Actress at the 43rd Blue Dragon Film Awards in 2022 and Best Actress in Film at the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards in 2023 for movie “Decision To Leave.” This is the first time Tang Wei has appeared in a domestic music video, and it stirs curiosity about what kind of performance the two will show in the music video.

Tang Wei expressed her feelings through IU’s agency: “The reason I decided to appear is simple. It’s because I like the artist IU. Like others, I love IU’s talent, personality, and songs. This is my first time appearing in a music video during my entertainment activities, and I was happy to be with IU and learned a lot on set.”

The two characters in the music video further piqued fan’s curiosity. After filming the music video, Tang Wei said, “IU played the role of my mother and friend, which was an exciting relationship,” raising expectations for the story they will unfold.

The track “Shh..” drew attention when it was revealed at the time of the track list release that Jo Won Sun, a member and singer-songwriter of Roller Coaster, and Hyein, a member of NewJeans, would be featuring, and someone with a question mark would be doing the special narration. Additionally, Director Hwang Soo Ah and Writer Kim Ji Hye, who IU worked with on the music videos for “Above the Time” and “Sogyeokdong,” are directing, raising expectations for the music video and mini-album with the Avengers-like team joining forces.

Meanwhile, IU’s new mini-album, “The Winning,” will be released on major online music sites at 6 p.m. on the 20th, and the full version of the music video for the track “Shh..” will be released at midnight on the 23rd.
