Shohei Ohtani’s Social Media

Japanese baseball player Shohei Ohtani (29) has topped the list of “Celebrities Women Want to Date.”

According to foreign media Oricon News on the 14th (local time), Shohei Ohtani, a baseball player who is also popular in Korea, won first place in Oricon’s “17th Survey of Celebrities Women Want to Date”, conducted in celebration of Valentine’s Day. It’s exceptional that Ohtani, a baseball player, was chosen as number one, as idols or actors usually occupy the top ten spots in this survey.

Fans who chose Shohei Ohtani gave reasons such as, “He is not lazy about making an effort, he seems to be objective and doesn’t seem extravagant” (a woman in 20s from Tokyo), “A guy who can concentrate on one thing and doesn’t forget to consider others” (a woman in 50s, from Tokyo), “I think Ohtani’s honesty would also be directed at his partner. I’m sure that as a baseball fan and a lover, I would take good care of him” (a woman in 30’s, from Saitama Prefecture). “He makes me smile. I want to go out with him for delicious food and laugh sometimes” (a woman in her 30s from Toyama Prefecture).

The responses mentioned Ohtani’s pet dog, “Decopin,” frequently. The respondents continuously showed positive reactions to him being with his dog despite his height exceeding 6ft 2in by leaving comments like, “He looks relaxed and kind at home with his dog” (a woman in her 50s from Mie Prefecture).

Meanwhile, Shohei Ohtani is drawing attention to his surgery schedule on his right elbow and his recovery. He is expected to participate in the season opener in Korea on March 20th, receiving attention from baseball fans worldwide.
