Netflix Set to Capture Boston Red Sox Journey in Documentary

joynews24 Views

Netflix, one of the best streaming service companies, is set to produce a sports documentary. According to the Major League Baseball (MLB) official website, MLB.com, Netflix will dispatch a production team to the MLB’s Boston Red Sox.

The Netflix production team will capture everything from the first day of Boston’s spring training camp to the regular season and, if they advance, until the postseason. They plan to document the entire season, sharing the players’ daily lives, coaching staff, and team officials.

The documentary is scheduled to be released next year (2025). The Boston team has set up their spring training camp at JetBlue Park at Fenway South in Fort Myers, Florida.

According to MLB.com, Netflix began discussions with the team in 2021 to produce the documentary. The players, including Boston manager Alex Cora, welcomed the idea.

Manager Alex Cora said, “I’m looking forward to Netflix telling the story of our team’s players in a way that hasn’t been seen in the MLB before.”

In addition to presenting Boston’s journey this season, Netflix is also known to release another work related to the team. It’s a documentary commemorating the 20th anniversary of Boston’s World Series victory.

Boston won the World Series in the 2004 season, breaking the Curse of the Bambino that had lasted for 86 years. Since then, Boston has also reached the top of the World Series in the 2007, 2013, and 2018 seasons.
