To celebrate International Women’s Day, Spotify revealed crucial streaming data highlighting the dominance of Korean female artists.
Spotify data reveals a massive 602% surge in global streams of Korean female artists over the past year alone since 2018. With over 24 billion streams, it’s clear that K-pop girl groups are dominating the music scene worldwide.
BLACKPINK was the most streamed Korean female artist worldwide in 2023, followed by NewJeans, TWICE, LE SSERAFIM, and FIFTY FIFTY.
In 2023, FIFTY FIFTY’s “Cupid – Twin Ver.” reigned supreme as the most streamed song by a Korean female artist on Spotify. NewJeans followed closely behind, swooping up the #2, #3, and #4 spots with “OMG,” “Ditto,” and “Super Shy” respectively. Rounding out the top 5 is BLACKPINK’s Jisoo with her solo track “Flower,” further solidifying her global influence.
