Bong Joon Ho’s Latest Masterpiece ‘Mickey 17’ to Premiere Next Year

Director Bong Joon Ho’s new film, Mickey 17 (working title), is set to premiere worldwide in Korea on January 28th next year.

On the 14th, Warner Brothers Korea, the film’s distributor, announced they plan to release Mickey 17 in time for next year’s Lunar New Year holiday. They added that the film will be shown in various theaters, including IMAX, 4DX, Dolby, and ScreenX.

Mickey 17 is a work based on the 2022 novel Mickey 7 by Edward Ashton. Leading actors are Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo.

The film is produced by Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner of Plan B, the production company led by Hollywood star Brad Pitt, along with Director Bong Joon Ho’s company Offscreen and Choi Doo Ho of Kate Street Picture Company.

Andrew Cripps, President of International Distribution at Warner Bros. Pictures Group, expressed confidence in the film, saying, “Director Bong Joon Ho’s imagination, vision, and creativity always take us beyond the audience’s expectations.” Mickey 17 will “surprise everyone with its original story and characters, unpredictable developments and humor, and excellent production quality.”
