The Beatles’ ‘Let It Be’ Recording Process Unveiled After 54 Years

joynews24 Views

The long-awaited return of Let It Be, The Beatles’ iconic final album recording journey, is about to hit screens once more. After 54 years since its last theater screening in 1970, fans can rejoice as the documentary directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg is set for an exclusive release on Disney+, courtesy of the Walt Disney Company (hereafter referred to as Disney) and United News. Mark your calendars for May 8th to dive back into this legendary piece of music history.

Let It Be is The Beatles’ final collaborative album before their breakup. In January 1969, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr convened to rehearse and record tracks for the album, with cameras capturing this pivotal creative process.

The documentary will be showcased in enhanced quality, thanks to the restoration efforts of Peter Jackson, renowned for his work on The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Jackson, who previously delved into Beatles-related content with his documentary The Beatles: Get Back released in 2021, brings his expertise to elevate the viewing experience of Let It Be.

Director Jackson utilized previously unreleased footage from the Let It Be documentary, omitted by director Lindsay-Hogg, to craft a fresh narrative in The Beatles: Get Back. This three-part series, available on Disney Plus, earned acclaim, clinching the Best Documentary/Educational Series award at the 2022 Emmy Awards.

Adding to the Beatles saga, Disney+ revealed plans for a biographical film about the four members by director Sam Mendes. The film is slated to captivate audiences with the untold stories of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr.
