joynews24 Views

YG Entertainment’s new rookie girl group, BABYMONSTER, is steadily rising the ranks on both domestic and international charts, garnering rave reviews from music enthusiasts for their impressive live performances. Their trajectory on the U.S. Billboard main chart reflects a consistent upward trend, marking three consecutive weeks.

According to the latest chart released by Billboard on the 23rd (local time), BABYMONSTER’s title track “SHEESH” from their first mini album ranked 16th on the Billboard Global (Billboard Global Excl. U.S) and 33rd on the Billboard Global 200.

Despite being three weeks since its release, they have again broken their record, ranking 23rd and 49th, proving their significant presence in the global music market.

BABYMONSTER’s overwhelming popularity is demonstrated through their remarkable talent showcased across various platforms such as music shows, YouTube, variety shows, and radio. Their track “SHEESH” has been making waves on Spotify’s Global Daily and Weekly charts for 22 days and two consecutive weeks, respectively. Moreover, it’s gaining momentum on leading domestic music platforms, notably breaking into the TOP 10 on Melon’s HOT 100 chart.

Their debut mini-album BABYMONS7ER, featuring the hit song “SHEESH,” achieved a groundbreaking achievement in K-pop history. It recorded the highest first-week sales for a debut album by a K-pop girl group, selling a staggering 401,287 copies within just one week. Additionally, the music video for “SHEESH” soared to 100 million views on YouTube in a mere ten days, setting a new record for the fastest debut song by a K-pop girl group to reach this milestone.

Riding this momentum, BABYMONSTER is gearing up for a fan meeting tour starting in Japan in May, followed by visits to five regions across Asia, including Tokyo, Japan; Jakarta, Indonesia; Singapore; Taipei; and Bangkok, Thailand. They are also expected to connect with their global fanbase through a performance at Summer Sonic 2024, Japan’s largest music festival.
