Seventeen Soars to Billboard 200’s Top 5 with ’17 IS RIGHT HERE’

Daniel Kim Views

K-pop boy group Seventeen ranked 5th on the US Billboard 200 chart with their best album, 17 IS RIGHT HERE.

According to a chart prediction article posted on the official website of the US music media Billboard on the 12th, 17 IS RIGHT HERE entered the latest main album chart Billboard 200 (as of May 18th) at number 5 with sales of 53,000 units. The album recorded 49,000 units in physical album sales and 4,000 units in SEA (Sales Equivalent Album, sales calculated by streaming counts).

With this, Seventeen now boasts their fifth Billboard 200 Top 10 album, following their 4th full album, Face the Sun (7th place), the repackage of their 4th full album, SECTOR 17 (4th place), their 10th mini album, FML (2nd place), and their 11th mini album, SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN (2nd place). Their 9th mini album, Attacca, also made it onto this chart in 13th place.

Seventeen’s Billboard success was already anticipated. 17 IS RIGHT HERE achieved double million-seller status on the day of its release, and first-week sales surpassed 2.96 million units. Based on the April monthly chart from Circle Chart, it recorded sales of over 3.18 million units (including standard, Weverse, and kit versions).

The album’s title track, “MAESTRO,” is also popular. Last week, the song entered the US Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global (Excl. US) charts at 91st and 40th place. Billboard ranks these charts by combining music streaming and sales data in more than 200 countries and regions from every Friday to the following Thursday. “MAESTRO” managed to rank on both major charts, despite that it was released at 6 PM on Friday, April 29th, and therefore only had four days of sales counted.

17 IS RIGHT HERE is an album that encapsulates Seventeen’s past, present, and future. The album contains a total of 33 songs, including the title track “MAESTRO,” “LALALI,” “Spell,” and “Youth Anthem,” as well as 28 of Seventeen’s past title tracks and the instrumental track “Adore U (Inst.).”

Seventeen wrapped up their official activities for 17 IS RIGHT HERE with an appearance on SBS Inkigayo on the 12th and will continue their massive stadium tour in Japan. They will meet with global fans at the SEVENTEEN TOUR FOLLOW AGAIN, which will be held at Osaka’s Yanmar Stadium Nagai on the 18th and 19th and at Kanagawa’s Nissan Stadium on the 25th and 26th.
