BTS’ J-Hope has won the grand prize at the Strong Warrior, Army! presentation competition.

On the 4th, J-Hope participated in the 2024 Strong Warrior, Army! presentation competition held at the War Memorial of Korea in Seoul. He delivered a speech on the theme of the pride of being a South Korean soldier, as felt by Sergeant Jung Hoseok, also known as J-Hope of BTS who led K-pop around the world.

J-Hope said, “BTS videos and photos appear in the mental strength training materials that army recruits learn from. Also, when the recruits tell me ‘It was an honor to serve with you,’ I feel that I have taken a valuable first step with them–the pillars of South Korea’s security.”

He continued, “Just as I have contributed to the development of Korean culture with the blood, sweat, tears, and voice on stage, I am now contributing in a different way as a soldier. Serving as a soldier in South Korea, where my existence can be a strength, is a great pride.”

Meanwhile, J-Hope enlisted in the army as an active-duty soldier in April last year and is currently serving as an assistant instructor at the 36th Division Recruit Training Center. He is expected to be discharged in October of this year.
