In a recent KBS JOY’s Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller episode, Russian influencer Dasha Taran, who was recently ranked the second most beautiful face in the world, revealed a surprising challenge: making friends in Korea. With an impressive online following of 6 million Instagram followers and 13 million on TikTok, Taran’s popularity skyrocketed after earning the No. 2 spot on TC Candler’s 100 Most Beautiful Faces of 2023 list.

Despite living in Korea for four years, Taran confessed that she struggles to connect with people her own age. “I can easily befriend older people, but I have a hard time making friends with those my age,” she explained. When co-host Lee Soo Geun suggested that many people would want to be her friend, Taran opened up about a deeper issue: “Once they find out how many followers I have, they usually just want to collaborate on content. What I really want is to find genuine friendships,” she shared.

Taran, who first visited Korea four years ago and fell in love with the country, shared her passion for BTS and other aspects of Korean culture. She humorously recounted how she learned Korean with the help of taxi drivers and sauna attendants. “The sauna ladies always try to set me up with their sons,” Taran laughed. “One time, a taxi driver was shocked when I told him I would eat black goat soup.”

Regarding her favorite things about Korea, Taran mentioned black goat soup, saunas, and even walking barefoot in parks. “You’re living like someone in their 50s,” Lee Soo Geun joked. “I guess that’s because you don’t have friends your own age.” Taran agreed, adding, “I also visit a traditional Korean medicine clinic. I often get cupping and moxibustion treatments.” Seo Jang Hoon suggested acupuncture might help if she experiences muscle tension.

The conversation took a lighter turn when Lee Soo Geun asked her about her interactions with men. I get asked for my number about two or three times a day,” Taran admitted, laughing. Seo Jang Hoon jokingly suggested that speaking Russian could help ward off unwanted attention.

When discussing her ideal type, Taran said that personality is more important than looks but named actor Cha Eun Woo as her celebrity crush. Seo Jang Hoon teased her, saying, “You said personality matters most, but if it’s Cha Eun Woo, it sounds like you care about looks after all!”
