Actor Park Sung Hoon’s recent social media activity has significantly disrupted the production of a new drama. The script reading for TVN’s upcoming series The Tyrant’s Chef was reportedly canceled at the last minute.
Sources close to the production revealed that tvN had planned to hold a script reading and test shoot this week with the lead cast, including Park Sung Hoon, Yoon Ah, and Kang Han Na. However, the network postponed the schedule due to the controversy surrounding Park Sung Hoon’s social media posts and a recent incident involving Jeju Air.
Park Sung Hoon became embroiled in controversy after posting an image related to adult content on his social media on Monday, which he quickly deleted. The explicit image, which quickly circulated among his more than 2 million followers, sparked an online backlash.
Park Sung Hoon’s agency, BH Entertainment, initially described the incident as a simple mistake but later revised its statement. A representative for the agency explained, “The image was accidentally uploaded during the process when Park Sung Hoon received the image and forwarded it to the agency’s staff.”
The Tyrant’s Chef is a historical drama about a renowned chef who travels back in time and encounters a ruthless king. Directed by Jang Tae Yoo, the series has garnered significant attention, especially as it marks Yoon Ah’s return to television after a two-year hiatus.
However, Park Sung Hoon’s involvement in the drama is now uncertain following the recent controversy. Reports suggest that the production team closely monitors the situation and reassesses its next steps.
