According to AFP, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Public Information Office announced on the 9th (local time) that the death toll from Hamas’s attacks exceeded 800, and the number of injured was over 2,600.

The number of casualties rose by about 100 from the previous day after Hamas militants infiltrated southern Israel on the early morning of the 7th, and forces resolved the situation.

The Public Information Office estimated the death toll would rise further and stated that militants in Gaza hold about 150 hostages, and their fate is uncertain.

Among the dead and hostages were foreigners from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Ukraine, and others.

Civilian casualties have also been reported in Gaza, where intensive airstrikes have continued since Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared war on Hamas.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that the death toll and the number of injured from Israel’s attacks on Gaza were 687 and 3,726, respectively.

The combined death toll from both Israel and Gaza is at least 1,487. The number of injured also exceeds 6,326.

Hamas threatened to execute civilian prisoners in retaliation if the bombing of civilian homes in Gaza continued due to Israel’s air raids.
