The U.S. special forces bid a regrettable farewell to Steel Troops 3 after being defeated by HID.

In the 9th episode of Channel A·ENA’s Steel Troops 3, aired on Tuesday (14th), the U.S. special forces lost to HID in the Drug Eradication Operation tournament, which allowed HID to advance directly to the finals. The constant back-and-forth heightened the suspense as the UDT and 707 teams embarked on a 660-pound supply march to secure the last remaining ticket to the finals.

Previously, the U.S. special forces had secured the ‘match deciding right’ benefit in the pre-mission quarterfinals and chose HID as their opponent. When they launched the Drug Eradication Operation, the U.S. special forces swiftly completed the mission by eliminating their opponents. On the other hand, HID focused more on safety to avoid gunshot penalties rather than speed. Studio MC Chu, who watched this, raised his thumb, saying, “They are careful as befits an intelligence unit.”

In particular, HID earned the admiration of the MCs by accurately identifying and shooting at the location of the enemy based solely on their shadow in the container section where the enemy was hiding. In the final battle with the enemies pouring out of a suspicious vehicle, they calmly maneuvered and responded with an all-kill, finishing the operation and holding up the drug evidence at the finish line.

After finishing the Drug Eradication Operation, the two units gathered in one place to wait for the results. Master Choi Young Jae announced, “Excluding the gunshot penalty, the operation record of the U.S. special forces is 10 minutes and 55 seconds, and HID’s is 14 minutes and 24 seconds.” He then added, “HID had a total of 5 gunshot penalties, ending the mission in a final time of 19 minutes and 24 seconds.” HID’s Lee Dong Kyu said, “I don’t expect (the U.S. special forces) to have many gunshot penalties.” However, Master Choi Young-Jae added, “The U.S. special forces had a total of 11 gunshot penalties, recording a final time of 21 minutes and 55 seconds,” revealing that HID had turned the tables and advanced to the finals.

The members of the U.S. special forces who had to leave Steel Troops 3 bowed their heads in silence. Afterward, Ian said, “It was fun. HID was cool today,” acknowledging the opposing team. Will also left, saying, “I was very impressed with the Korean troops every day, and I think they are excellent friends,” leaving the famous quote, “A friend cannot be an enemy.”

Next, the 660-pound supply march, the second mission of the quarterfinals between UDT and 707, unfolded. As soon as the starting whistle sounded, all members of both units, each carrying about 88 pounds of military equipment, sprinted with all their might. In particular, 707’s team leader, Hong Beom Seok, kept pushing forward. Hong Beom Seok ran 550 yards (550m) without rest, arrived first at the first supply point, loaded the first supplies onto a 44-pound carrier, and quickly set off with the 707 members who came soon after. Shortly after, UDT closely followed, and 707 carried their carrier by hand, while UDT carried theirs on their shoulder, creating a tense competition.

Both units kept overtaking each other, leaving the watching MCs in awe. UDT and 707 arrived almost simultaneously at the second supply point, changed their carrier positions, and marched again. Soon after, both units arrived at the IBS at the end of the beach but were shocked by the additional mission to secure an extra 265 pounds of supplies from a ship at sea and reach the finish line.

The two units that climbed onto the IBS collided while paddling after embarking, causing a heart-dropping moment. The members said, “They hit us from behind” and “Push their IBS away,” leading to a sharp nerve war. Afterward, UDT, who arrived first at the ship with heated paddling, loaded the additional supplies onto the IBS and continued to push forward. However, a sudden situation occurred where the IBS turned around due to the rough waves. At this moment, 707 rushed close to UDT, reaching a peak of tension.

MC Yoon Doo Jun applauded the two units’ muscular physical and mental strength and exceptional teamwork, saying, “It’s almost like a race.” Who among the two units will win and grab the ticket to the finals will be revealed in next week’s broadcast.
