Kris, Sentenced to 13 Years in Prison
Claims of Fabricated Charges Surface After a Year

Kris, the former member of the group EXO, has been sentenced to prison on charges of sexually assaulting a minor. Recently, new allegations have emerged.

According to foreign media outlets such as China Press, on the 23rd, a ghostwriter posted on the Chinese social media Weibo on the 20th. The anonymous writer claimed to have written on behalf of Du Meizhu (the victim in Kris’s case).

In the post, the ghostwriter described the process of Kris’s sexual assault allegations over the past two years, claiming that Du Meizhu manipulated eight of the minors who accused Kris of sexual assault.

The ghostwriter added that Du Meizhu was dating Kris and bragged about it to her friends.

Furthermore, reports indicated that Du Meizhu expressed her desire to enter the entertainment industry, stating her intention to use Kris for gaining entry into the business.

The ghostwriter stated, “Du Meizhu will face a 10-year sentence for fraud and imprisonment if Kris survives.”

Continuing, “Now everything seems like a play,” she expressed her sincere desire to help Kris.

Fans who came across this news responded by saying, “A former top celebrity received a heavy sentence. Wouldn’t they have proceeded with a legal lawsuit not just based on online posts?”

Kris’s Social Media

Earlier in 2021, Chinese influencer Du Meizhu claimed that in 2020, Kris’s manager invited her to drink alcohol under the pretext of signing a contract and that Kris sexually assaulted her while she was intoxicated.

At the time, Du Meizhu was 17 years old. Kris’s side refuted this as entirely untrue.

Meanwhile, in November last year, a court sentenced Kris to a total of 13 years in prison. This sentence included 11 years and 6 months for rape and 1 year and 10 months for group lewdness.

Authorities subsequently issued a deportation order for Kris. He is currently appealing the verdict, and the trial is still ongoing.
