The U.S. White House announced that it plans to discuss “how to enhance trilateral cooperation (between the U.S., South Korea, and Japan)” about the upcoming trilateral security directors’ meeting in Seoul on the 9th.
John Kirby, the White House NSC’s Strategic Communications Coordinator, said in a briefing on the 6th (local time), “National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan is very much looking forward to his visit to South Korea,” and “At this meeting, we will actively discuss over common interest issues related to the security environment.”
He further emphasized, “Advisor Sullivan plans to meet with the security directors of both South Korea and Japan to discuss how to implement the Camp David agreement of the U.S., South Korea, and Japan’s leaders and how to enhance bilateral and trilateral cooperation.”
