BTS Dominates Billboard Charts While Serving in the Military

tvreport Views

Despite being on military hiatus, the world-class boy band BTS continues to soar in popularity.

On the 19th (local time), Billboard’s latest chart (dated December 23) featured four of BTS’s songs within the top 10 of the ‘World Digital Song Sales’ chart, occupying 40% of the chart.

“Spring Day” clinched the 1st spot, while “Outro: Tear” took 2nd place. The title track “No More Dream” from their debut single “2 COOL 4 SKOOL” ranked 6th, and “Louder than Bombs” from their fourth full-length album “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7” secured the 8th spot. These songs managed to chart despite not being their latest releases, further proving the undying popularity of BTS even during their military hiatus.

BTS officially entered their military hiatus as RM, V, Jimin, and Jungkook enlisted in the military consecutively on the 11th and 12th. Unfortunately, with all members enlisted in the military, fans won’t be able to see any group or individual activities of BTS for a while.

However, once the cold winter passes, the eldest member Jin, who enlisted first, is expected to bring joy to fans by being discharged in June next year. J-Hope, who enlisted after Jin, will be discharged in October of the same year. In 2024, both Jin and J-Hope are expected to resume their activities.

By June 2025, RM, V, Jimin, and Jungkook will be discharged in order, and Suga, who has completed his duty as a public service worker for 2 years and 2 months, will finally return to the fans. Expectations are high for the full-scale activities of BTS, who will once again surprise the world as a group that has completed their military service.
