China Eastern Airlines Crew Member Deploys Emergency Slide Amid Dispute

Daniel Kim Views

The plane was moving usually along the runway when suddenly the back door opened, and the emergency slide was deployed. A crew member even slid down from inside. Due to this, the plane had to stop temporarily, causing inconvenience to passengers who were unable to disembark.

On the day of the delay, the phrase “China Eastern Airlines passenger plane deployed an emergency slide due to crew conflict” also trended on social media.

One source told the media, “It’s true that a crew member deployed the emergency escape slide due to a dispute among the crew.” The crew member in question has reportedly been employed for over ten years.

China Eastern Airlines was also involved in a passenger plane crash in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in 2022, which has added to the local people’s anxiety about this incident.

In that accident, the passenger plane crashed almost vertically from a height of 26,247 feet (8000m) in just three minutes, killing all 132 passengers on board. However, there were no known mechanical faults or weather issues at the time, and the Chinese government has not yet disclosed any particular causes, leading to various speculations. Some have even suggested that a conflict among the pilots could have been the cause of the accident.
