On the 9th, Volvo Car Korea announced that it would reopen its expanded Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Center in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, to enhance customer satisfaction.

Around $116 million was invested in renovating this PDI center equipped with storage space and conducts quality inspections before delivering vehicles to customers. The center has been expanded to accommodate up to 50,000 vehicles annually.

In particular, the expanded PDI center, which has increased to a total area of 90,000 sq ft, is the first in the domestic imported car industry to introduce solar power generation facilities.

The enlarged PDI center also embraced a sustainable operation method of recycling car-washed water through ozone treatment. Furthermore, by replacing the paint booth and lighting with the latest equipment and introducing a driving test process, Volvo Korea is ready to offer improved quality of pre-inspection.

In response to the increasing demand for electric and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) vehicles, they have increased the power for exclusive EV charging and newly established battery charging facilities and battery safety storage areas.

Lee Yoon Mo, Volvo Korea’s representative, said, “We expanded the PDI center to minimize customer inconvenience that can occur during the vehicle delivery process and to strengthen the reliability of the new car inspection process.” He added, “We will continue to make efforts to provide the best products and services to customers through continuous infrastructure investment.”
