Putin’s New Pets: Pungsan Dogs Gifted by Kim Jong Un Arrives in Moscow

It is reported that a pair of Pungsan dogs that North Korean leader Kim Jon Un gifted to Russian President Vladimir Putin during his visit to North Korea are adapting well to life in Moscow.

According to the TASS news agency, on the 29th, when Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin’s spokesman, was asked if the Pungsan dogs had arrived in Moscow and undergone necessary procedures, he responded, “The dogs are in Moscow and are adjusting.”

Previously, Peskov had announced that Pungsan dogs would be given names once they completed quarantine and other necessary procedures.

On Putin’s state visit to North Korea on the 19th, he received a pair of Pungsan dogs and various art pieces as gifts from Kim. Putin also gave Kim a luxury Russian-made Aurus limousine, a tea set, and a dagger.

Russian media have shown considerable interest in Pungsan dogs, describing them as a rare, unknown breed outside North Korea.
