Paris Hilton’s Fight for Safer Schools

Paris Hilton, a world-renowned hotel chain heiress and Hollywood star, confessed the abuse she experienced as a child.

On the 26th (local time), Hilton attended a hearing on Enhancing Child Protection and Welfare hosted by the House Ways and Means Committee at the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C. She highlighted the need for enhanced child welfare protection by mentioning the negative experiences she had at a boarding school during her teenage years.

“The place promised growth, healing, and support, but did not allow me to speak, move freely, or even look out the window for two years,” Hilton shared. “The facility staff forced me to take medications and sexually abused me. I was violently restrained and dragged down the hallway, stripped naked, and locked in solitary confinement.”

She added that the situation in boarding schools and youth protection facilities in the United States has not changed significantly since 27 years ago. She also mentioned that she had just heard the news of a 12-year-old foster child being sexually abused and becoming pregnant by facility staff.

“These are children whose parents are unable to support them,” said Hilton, pointing out lax oversight by the authorities. “This industry, worth $23 billion annually, only sees these children as money, and there is no supervision of the facilities.”

As a mother of two, Paris Hilton said, “As a mother, these stories break my heart. The treatment these children had to endure was a crime. These children deserve to grow up in a safe environment.”

Meanwhile, Hilton revealed in her documentary released in the fall of 2020 that she was abused at a boarding school. After the documentary was released, celebrities like Paris Jackson, the daughter of pop star Michael Jackson, also publicly disclosed the cruel treatment they received at school.
