President Joe Biden held a press conference on Thursday. He acknowledged the need to pace himself during the meeting to perform presidential duties. However, he claimed that his early dismissal schedule was false information.
He noted, “What I said was, instead of my every day starting at 7 a.m. and going to bed at midnight, it would be smarter for me to pace myself a little more. And I said, for example … instead of starting a fundraiser at 9 [p.m.], start it at 8 [p.m.]. People get to go home by 10 [p.m.]. That’s what I’m talking about.“
Biden criticized former President Donald Trump for “done virtually nothing” and claimed he has a busy schedule. He said, “My schedule has been full bore. I’ve done — where’s Trump been? Riding on his golf cart, filling out his scorecard before he hits the ball? I mean, look. He’s done virtually nothing.”
Biden also emphasized his busy schedule, noting, “I love my staff, but they add things. They add things all the time. I’m catching hell from my wife.” He said he would not undertake long flight schedules for the next election debate. Biden’s team had disclosed that Biden had poor condition in the last discussion due to a long flight schedule.
He said he had undergone three brain health check tests back in February. He also mentioned that if doctors advise him to take more tests, he will follow their advice.
Biden explained that European leaders he met at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit opposed Trump’s return to power. He said, “I’ve not had any of my European allies come up to me and say, ‘Joe, don’t run,'” he said. “What I hear them say is, you gotta win – you can’t have this guy come forward, he’d be a disaster, he’d be a disaster.”
He also expressed concern about Trump being close to authoritarians and emphasized Trump’s inexperience in foreign policy.
