Daniel Kim Views

In response to Iran’s announced retaliatory attacks against Israel, the United States has taken decisive action. The U.S. has deployed a squadron of additional fighter jets and the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln to the region.

Tensions in the Middle East have escalated after the assassination of Hamas’ top political leader, with Iran announcing retaliatory attacks targeting Israel.

The Israeli military has heightened its alert status, and the U.S. has dispatched warships to the region. Meanwhile, the U.S., UK, and France have advised their citizens in Iran to evacuate.

On August 3rd, major U.S. political media outlet Axios reported that Iran’s attacks targeting Israel could begin as today.

On the 31st of last month, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in Tehran, the capital of Iran. Following the incident, Iran and Hamas announced their intention to retaliate against Israel.

In response, Israel has maintained a heightened alert status and taken defensive measures. Authorities have advised residents to prepare safe shelters stocked with food and water.

The United States is also supporting Israel by deploying naval and air forces. The U.S. Department of Defense announced that Secretary Lloyd Austin has approved the deployment of multiple Navy cruisers and destroyers equipped with ballistic missile defense capabilities to the Middle East.

The United States has deployed an additional squadron of fighter jets and sent the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln to the region.

As tensions in the Middle East escalate, France has advised its citizens to leave Iran as soon as possible, and Poland has urged its citizens to avoid traveling to Iran, Israel, and Lebanon.

The U.S., UK, and France have advised their citizens in Lebanon to leave immediately. Sweden has also temporarily closed its embassy in Beirut and urged its citizens remaining in Lebanon to use any means necessary to leave the country.

On August 3rd, while speaking with reporters in Greenville, Delaware, President Joe Biden was asked if he believed Iran would back down. He responded, “I hope so, but I don’t know.”
