North Korea Slams Japan’s Kishida: ‘Nuclear-Free World’ Talk is Hypocritical Nonsense

North Korea criticized Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida’s recent speech emphasizing a nuclear-free world, stating that “his pretense to be a nuclear victim incites outrage among the masses.”

North Korea’s state-run media, Korean Central News Agency, released a commentary denouncing remarks made by Kishida during the memorial service for atomic bomb victims and the peace memorial ceremony at Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park last Tuesday. Kishida stated, “Japan’s mission is to uphold the three non-nuclear principles and strive for a nuclear-free world.” The news agency criticized these comments as “shameless nonsense.”

The agency asserted, “Kishida is hiding a sinister intention behind his repetitive calls for the three non-nuclear principles. Japan has persistently pursued nuclear armament while cloaking itself in the guise of these principles.”

The commentary pointed out Japan’s recent actions, including its participation in AUKUS (the trilateral security partnership between Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States), the holding of U.S.-Japan extended deterrence dialogues, and the implementation of Freedom Edge, the South Korea-U.S.-Japan multi-domain joint exercise, as well as joint drills with NATO member countries.

It further stated, “It is not difficult to discern the ultimate goal of a nuclear ambition country,” criticizing Japan for being unaware that its forked tongue hypocritical behavior only further backfires and inflames global public sentiment. The commentary concluded with a warning: “Those who deny history are bound to face its punishment.”
