Reports suggest that North Korean artillery shells are now landing on Ukrainian soil, with North Korean troops being deployed to aid Russia.

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported on Sunday that Russian forces had maintained their offensive in northeastern Ukraine’s Kharkiv region for two consecutive days. A spokesperson for the Ukrainian military stated that 60% of the 122mm and 152mm artillery shells fired by Russia originate from North Korea.

However, Ukrainian Colonel Romanow noted that many of these North Korean shells are substandard, frequently missing targets or falling to detonate as intended. North Korea is already recognized for supplying various weapons to Russia, including missiles. Recently, South Korea’s Ministry of Defense estimated that North Korea has shipped over 20,000 containers of arms to Russia via Rajin Port. Military experts calculate that filling these containers with 152mm artillery shells would total approximately 9.4 million rounds.
