Proven In-Car Entertainment Solution Delivers Immersive Media Experiences and Transforms New Kia Models into Living Spaces on Wheels

SEOUL, South Korea, July 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — LG Electronics (LG), a pioneer in mobility technology, has announced that its webOS-based Automotive Content Platform (ACP) will power in-car streaming for Kia Corporation’s new European models. The platform, which made its debut on the recently unveiled EV3, will also be featured in the upcoming EV4, EV5, and New Sportage. This expansion marks LG’s groundbreaking in-car experience entering the European market following successful implementations in Korea.

LG’s ACP is built on the robust and versatile webOS platform, which currently powers over 240 million LG Smart TVs worldwide. Leveraging the TV platform’s proven reliability and user-friendly interface, the automotive-optimized webOS offers drivers and passengers seamless access to a wide array of content and services, specifically tailored for the in-car environment.

As a key component of LG AlphaWare, the company’s comprehensive software-defined vehicle (SDV) solution suite, the ACP reimagines the car as a true mobile living space. The platform enables passengers to stream their favorite content directly on the vehicle’s infotainment display,* providing an experience comparable to that of a smartphone or smart TV—all while adhering to strict driving safety regulations.

Kia’s European model lineup will offer a diverse in-car entertainment experience, featuring popular content from platforms such as Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, LG Channels, Baby Shark World for Kids, Stingray Karaoke, Play.Works, Haystack News, and Vasari. The content library is set to expand later this year, incorporating Rakuten TV, Napster, and the German OTT service Joyn. These video streaming services, available only when the vehicle is parked, will transform cars into private cinemas—further enhancing the in-car media ecosystem.

\”By integrating the webOS Automotive Content Platform into Kia’s European model lineup, we’re making it effortless for people to enjoy their favorite content on the go,\” said Eun Seok-hyun, president of the LG Vehicle Solution Company. \”LG remains dedicated to strengthening partnerships and expanding our content ecosystem to deliver premium in-vehicle entertainment and cutting-edge connectivity.\”

* An automotive data plan is required to access streaming services. Access to certain apps may require a separate subscription.
