Park Yeong-bun (Korea Organ Donation AgencyA woman with intellectual disabilities recently died at the age of 58, as organs from her body were donated to five individuals, a state-affiliated organ donation agency said Monday.

The Korea Organ Donation Agency reported that Park Yeong-bun’s liver, both kidneys, and eyes were donated to five recipients following her death on July 2. Park had fallen unconscious on June 30 and was later declared brain dead at the hospital.

Those who knew her described Park as a kind-hearted and vivacious individual who cherished time with her family and the staff at her welfare center.

Despite having a class 2 intellectual disability, Park communicated effortlessly with others and consistently aided friends who faced challenges, according to a center official.

Her bereaved family opted for organ donation, believing it aligned with Park’s compassionate nature and her desire to help others.
