Pancreatic cancer is often referred to as the ‘worst cancer’ because it’s said that ‘9 out of 10 people die from it’.

There are various types of tumors in the pancreas, including the most commonly known pancreatic adenocarcinoma, and several other types of tumors.

So, how should we detect and treat pancreatic diseases that can turn into cancer and those that can be treated with surgery?

The pancreas is closely attached to other organs such as the stomach, colon, and small intestine, making it difficult to remove after a tumor is discovered.

It’s not just about removing the pancreas; in many cases, other organs, such as the duodenum, gallbladder, and bile duct, also have to be removed.

Moreover, the pancreas secretes digestive enzymes and regulates blood sugar levels. Therefore, removing the pancreas can lead to a result of weak digestive system or the development of diabetes.

On this note, the upcoming episode of EBS <Name-‘Crucial Pancreatic Conditions Every Concerned Individual Must Know’>’Doctors’ set to air at 9 p.m. on the 8th, will discuss the symptoms, types, and treatment methods of pancreatic diseases featuring Professor Seo Dong-wan, a leading expert in the pancreatic endoscopic treatment.
