Flight Attendant Reveals Top Packing Hacks for Stress-Free Travel

Daniel Kim Views

In an interview with The Sun, British flight attendant Miguel Muñoz shared efficient ways to pack a travel bag.

For those aiming to capture life photos, there’s a tendency to stuff unnecessary items into a travel bag just in case. However, carrying unnecessary items only wastes valuable space that could be used for souvenirs. Let’s look at Muñoz’s tips for simplifying luggage.

Replace Boots with Aqua Shoes

Travelers often pack hiking boots or boots for exploring destinations, but these are the main culprits in taking up luggage weight and space. A good alternative is aqua shoes. Aqua shoes are helpful for water activities, hiking, and daily wear, offering high versatility. They dry quickly and take up less space.

Layer Thin Clothes Instead of a Heavy Winter Coat

The unpredictable cabin temperature and the night weather at destinations make planning challenging. Many tourists end up packing bulky winter coats. Muñoz recommended layering thin clothes instead of carrying thick garments because winter coats take up significant space and cannot accommodate subtle temperature changes. On the other hand, layering thin clothes allows for adjusting to temperature variations and helps save space and reduce weight.

Only One Pair of Jeans

Jeans are favored for travel attire as they are less likely to get dirty and are easy to coordinate. However, jeans are heavy and take up a lot of space, even when appropriately folded. Therefore, Muñoz recommended packing just one pair of jeans, preferably worn during the flight.

Additionally, Muñoz emphasized being cautious with the mindset of “just in case.” He pointed out, “Packing extra just in case can lead to not using them at all, making the trip more cumbersome.” He also advised, “The beauty of travel is in making do with what you have. If you find yourself lacking something, it’s usually easy to obtain it at the destination, so it’s better not to worry too much.”
