A princess from Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), announced her divorce from her husband on Instagram just two months after giving birth to their child.

According to foreign media outlets on Tuesday, Princess Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum of Dubai made this announcement on her Instagram.

The princess posted on Instagram, “Dear Husband, As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, and I Divorce You.”

She wrote “I divorce you” three times, invoking the old Islamic tradition where a husband could divorce his wife by repeating “I divorce you” three times.

She is the daughter of Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and is one of his 26 children. Her mother is of Greek origin.

The princess is a staunch advocate for women’s rights and the development of UAE designers. She holds a degree from a university in the UK, works as a celebrity, and has amassed over 500,000 Instagram followers.

She married Sheikh Mana Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Bin Mana Al Maktoum in a luxurious ceremony in May last year, and they welcomed a daughter in May this year.

The princess expressed her joy at becoming a mother at the time, calling it “the most memorable experience.”

Also, she held a gender reveal party with her husband in February to celebrate.

However, a few weeks ago, she suddenly posted a photo of herself holding her baby on Instagram with the puzzling caption, “Just the two of us.”

Neither the husband nor her father have made any public statements.

Some have even suggested that her Instagram account may have been hacked.
