As selected by U.S. media, Lee Jung Hoo (25) of the San Francisco Giants has been ranked third among the top 100 MLB players to watch this year.

According to USA Today, on the 24th, Lee was chosen as one of the 100 MLB Players to Watch in 2024. He ranked third, following Yoshinobu Yamamoto of the LA Dodgers and Evan Carter of the Texas Rangers.

USA Today described Lee as the first domino piece of San Francisco’s innovative offseason with a six-year contract worth $113 million, stating, “We have selected the top prospects expected to have the biggest impact on the upcoming 2024 MLB season.” This seems to refer to the signings of Matt Chapman, Jordan Hicks, and Blake Snell following Lee’s contract.

It further explained, “At 25, Lee has posted a batting average of .340 over seven seasons in the KBO League and was named MVP in 2022.”

Lee has a batting average of .414 in 11 exhibition games and will start as the leadoff hitter in the MLB opener against the San Diego Padres on the 29th.
