Keegan Bradley, who was appointed as the U.S. team captain for the 2025 Ryder Cup, expressed his willingness to select LIV golf players to secure a victory. At a press conference held in New York on July 10, Bradley emphasized, “I want the best 12 players. It doesn’t matter where they play.”

Last year, the U.S. team suffered a complete defeat against the European team in the Ryder Cup held in Italy. Consequently, Bradley has left the possibility open to select LIV golf players to form a stronger team for this tournament. He added, “We have a mission to win the Ryder Cup. I will even visit the LIV tournament if it means selecting good players.”

The Ryder Cup consists of each team fielding 12 players, with six selected based on their scores and the remaining six picked as wild cards by the captain. Last year, the tournament saw deepening conflicts among players as those from the U.S. Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) Tour were lured by hefty contracts to switch to LIV golf. After much deliberation, Zach Johnson, the captain at that time, eventually selected Brooks Koepka who had moved to LIV golf.

Bradley was unexpectedly appointed as captain after strong candidate Tiger Woods declined the offer. He said, “I didn’t see it coming. I found out when (former captain) Johnson called to tell me.”

Bradley, who has six wins on the PGA Tour including the PGA Championship, expressed his desire to participate not only as a captain but also as a player. Currently ranked 19th in the men’s world golf rankings, Bradley said, “I’m still in my prime and I believe I can make it onto the U.S. Ryder Cup team as a player.”

Bradley’s comments have garnered significant attention among American golf fans and officials as they closely watch what results the U.S. team will achieve under his leadership. The 2025 Ryder Cup is expected to see fierce competition between the U.S. and European teams, and it will be intriguing to see what outcome Bradley’s strategies will yield.
