North Korea’s Park Myong Jin has claimed three gold medals at the 2024 IWF World Championships, which are currently underway in Manama, Bahrain.

On Monday, Rodong Sinmun reported that Park had competed in the men’s 61kg category the previous day. He lifted 132kg in the snatch, 173kg in the clean & jerk, and 305 kg in the jerk, securing first place in all three events and winning three gold medals.

The newspaper also highlighted the performance of Ri Song Gum, who competed in the women’s 49kg category. Ri lifted 91kg in the snatch, 122kg in the clean & jerk, and achieved a total of 213kg. She won gold medals in the clean, jerk, and total while taking second place in the snatch.
