President Xi Jinping, who has been in power in China for 12 years, congratulated Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, who has confirmed his “30-year rule.”

Your re-election is a full demonstration of the support of the Russian people for you.”
Xi also said: “I believe that under your leadership, Russia will certainly be able to achieve greater national development and construction achievements.” “China attaches great importance to the development of China-Russia relations and stands ready to maintain close communication with Russia to promote the sustained, healthy, stable, and in-depth development of the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership,” he further added.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated at a regular briefing, “China extends its congratulations to Putin for winning landslide support in the voting. China and Russia are each other’s largest neighbors and comprehensive strategic partners of coordination for a new era.”

As an independent candidate, Putin won the Russian presidential election held from the 15th to the 17th, recording a vote rate of 87.34%. He surpassed his previous highest record of 76.7% in the 2018 presidential election by more than 10 points, setting a new record.
Putin, who won the presidential election again in 2000, 2004, 2012, and 2018, will serve for another six years until 2030. His “30-year rule” also surpasses the 29-year rule of former General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Joseph Stalin.
Meanwhile, Kim Jong Un, the Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of North Korea, a close ally of both China and Russia, also sent a congratulatory message immediately after Putin’s election victory was announced. The North Korean Central News Agency reported that the message would be delivered to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation by the DPRK’s Ambassador to Russia, Sin Hong Chol.
