“A man who looked like a loser approached me recently. ‘Mr. President, I’m crushed by debt. I’m completely bankrupt.’ I had to say, ‘Sorry, Donald, I can’t help you.'”

President Joe Biden of the United States made headlines with a speech that described former President Donald Trump, who is struggling with financial difficulties after being fined astronomically, as a “man sitting on a pile of debt.” According to the White House common press, President Biden said at a fundraising event in Houston, Texas, on the 21st (local time), “We are leading in five national opinion polls after the State of the Union address,” and then brought up the story of a man buried in debt, saying, “Not everyone was enthusiastic (about my State of the Union address).”

Last January, former President Trump was ordered to pay a total of $83.3 million (approximately 111.7 billion won) in damages for defaming E. Jean Carroll, a former fashion magazine columnist and sexual assault victim, and last month, he was fined a total of $364 million (approximately 488 billion won) in relation to allegations of inflating assets. He plans to appeal both cases, but he is having difficulty securing a surety bond for the asset inflation case.

The New York Attorney General’s Office stated that it could seize assets if the surety bond is not paid by the 25th, and previously submitted a written judgment to Westchester County, New York, where former President Trump’s golf course and real estate are located, on the 6th.

Meanwhile, President Biden maintains a clear lead over former President Trump in election funding. According to the Federal Election Commission (FEC), former President Trump’s presidential campaign and Political Action Committee (PAC) raised a total of $15.9 million last month, and the cash balance was surveyed to be $37 million. Michael Tyler, communications director for the Biden presidential election campaign, assessed, “If Donald Trump puts these numbers on ‘The Apprentice,’ he will fire himself.” “The Apprentice” is a TV program that former President Trump used to host, and he also coined a buzzword “You’re fired.” President Biden’s presidential campaign raised $53 million last month and reported that it currently holds $155 million.
